This year is the 50th anniversary of Save Our Shores, an initiative begun by local women. Their campaign effectively halted the construction of an oil refinery along the Seacoast and an underwater pipeline from the Isles of Shoals. Imagine how different our coastline would have looked if it were not for this courageous group!
To honor this significant milestone and generate funds for ocean conservation, a team of highly experienced swimmers will swim from the Isles of Shoals to the mainland on August 20. As they reach the shore, we’ll also be conducting a beach cleanup on Pirate’s Cove Beach. Join us for this epic event!
