With schools closing and people being encouraged to stay inside it can be challenging to find engaging activities for children that are also educational. We at Blue Ocean Society have been working on making our educational programs accessible for people who are home with children as well as for educators in search of lesson plans to use for remote learning.
Now you can participate in our popular microplastics lab from home with some sand and a strainer. You can also take a ride down the Merrimack River and follow the story of how small bio-film disks traveled from Hooksett, NH all the way to England! We additionally will have a beach scavenger hunt and passbook for children to use to learn more about the animals that we can find here in the Gulf of Maine.
