We have been working very hard to convert many of our educational programs into hands-on activities you can do at home. One such activity is our microplastics lab, students can sift through sand samples from their local beaches to find microplastics lurking in the sand. This lab is great for students from 4th grade up to high school. It allows students to learn about primary and secondary microplastics and where they come from, as well as their impact on the environment. Through this lab students learn how Blue Ocean Society samples for microplastics, and are able to try sampling and sorting for microplastics first-hand.
