Adopt a Whale

Adopt a local whale for yourself or a loved one! Unlike many other adoption programs, with our adoptions, you will be adopting a specific whale in our local population and learning about it all year. We have several individuals to choose from. When you adopt the whale, you receive a color photo, the animal’s sighting history, and a fact sheet about the species.

One of my favorite parts about this program is that our adopters receive updates on their animal as it is sighted during our research season! For example, if you adopt the humpback whale Pinball (a female born in 1989), we’ll let you know when she’s spotted in our area and send you updated photos!

We have two types of adoptions to choose from – a traditional adoption, which is delivered by regular mail, or a digital adoption, which is delivered by email as a PDF file. You can keep the files on your computer, tablet, or phone, or print them at home! Click here to learn more and adopt your whale!

Apparel

We also have cozy hooded sweatshirts, organic cotton t-shirts and long-sleeve tees, and organic cotton hats. We purchase all our apparel from local printers and strive for the most sustainable materials possible. Our sweatshirts and t-shirts have a local humpback whale on the back! Purchase apparel

Holiday Shipping Deadlines

Physical merchandise (apparel and mailed whale adoptions): Please order by December 15 for the best chance of holiday delivery.  Digital whale adoptions: order by 5 PM on December 22 for Christmas delivery.
