Thanks to you, we’re making huge strides towards our goal of protecting marine life in the Gulf of Maine.
Over the past 18 years, we’ve:
- Removed more than 197,000 pounds of litter from local beaches through engaging volunteers in more than 200 beach cleanups each year (even in the winter)
- Documented individual whales, learned about their behavior and investigated human impacts. We’ve gained new insights on our local whales, such as learning that humpback whale calves don’t seem to come back to our area after they’re brought here by their mothers.
- Educated thousands of students about the importance of the ocean through our hands-on educational programs
- Reached more than 116,000 visitors at our Blue Ocean Discovery Center since it opened in 2013.
Eighty-five percent of our funding comes from contributions from concerned donors. With your help, we can create a healthier Gulf of Maine, for the benefit of marine life and for all of us. Thank you for your support!
