Ten years ago, Jen and I started gathering our naturalists together to talk about new what’s new in the world of whales, our research and beach cleanup results, and whatever else we could think of. Everyone in attendance (maybe 10 of us) presented based on their expertise or interest. It was quite the collaborative process! Soon after, others caught wind of our naturalist meetings and asked if they could join. Since then, we have hosted half-day and all-day workshops, inviting dozens of experts in the various fields of marine science to present their research, knowledge or interests. We continue to incorporate updates on Blue Ocean Society’s activities, but feel the workshops now are much better-rounded with a broader range of topics!
I must say, I am really looking forward to this year’s workshop (maybe we should call it a symposium)! I have gathered experts to teach us about a variety of topics ranging from oysters and crabs to seabirds, seals and right whales and more! The agenda for this day is not yet finalized but I hope to have that posted on our website soon!
Would you like to join us? Register in advance to save $5! Workshop fees are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. The fee includes coffee, tea, light breakfast options, lunch and snacks. We anticipate this to be a zero-waste event, so please bring your own coffee mug and water bottle.
Event Details: Saturday, March 23, 2019, 9:30-3:30, atSeacoast Science Center, Rye, NH
