Saturday, June 4th – World Ocean Week Beach Cleanups & Opening Day at Blue Ocean Discovery Center!
Celebrate the ocean and protect marine life by joining us for a beach cleanup! Cleanups will be held in 3 states this morning:
- Maine: 9:00 AM at Seapoint Beach in Kittery
- Massachusetts: 9:30 AM at Plum Island
- New Hampshire: 10:00 AM at Hampton Beach
You can also visit our Blue Ocean Discovery Center, which will be open for an exciting first day of the season from 9:30 AM-5 PM.

Sunday, June 5th – Ladder the Life-sized Whale at Seacoast Science Center
We will visit Seacoast Science Center from 12 – 2 pm with Ladder the lifesize inflatable fin whale! Come learn about Ladder, a whale that we used to see frequently in the Gulf of Maine until he passed away in 2018. Children can crawl inside and learn about Ladder’s anatomy and adaptations. We will also have whale artifacts like bones and baleen that you can check out.

- Blue Ocean Discovery Center: Visit our Blue Ocean Discovery Center at 180 Ocean Boulevard in Hampton Beach. Open daily starting June 4, from 9:30 AM-5:00 PM
- Do your own beach cleanup! Can’t join one of our public cleanups? Do your own cleanup using our handy Digital Beach Cleanup Kit. It has a supply list and info on how you can submit your findings to us!
