Through a grant from NH Department of Environmental Services, we are administering the Hodgson Brook Restoration Project. Hodgson Brook is located in Portsmouth, NH. The watershed of Hodgson Brook is primarily situated in Portsmouth; however a small area of its northernmost extent is within the Town of Newington. The Hodgson Brook drainage system is made up of over 7 miles of waterways.
In 2001, the Advocates for the North Mill Pond (ANMP), a local citizen group, was awarded a grant from the NH Department of Environmental Services to study Hodgson Brook and develop a restoration plan. The ANMP put together a Local Advisory Committee to help develop and implement the restoration plan. Through our grant, we employ a part-time Watershed Coordinator who implements priority activities outlined in the plan which was published in 2004.
