Ever wanted to see a sea star up close? Have you ever seen a barnacle feeding? You can see these things and more at our touch tank, located at the Isles of Shoals Steamship Company dock in downtown Portsmouth.
Due to staffing changes, our daily hours for the Portsmouth touch tank stopped on August 31, 2009. Additional late summer/fall hours will be posted on our Touch Tank Blog - CLICK HERE. PORTSMOUTH TOUCH TANK SUMMER PROGRAMS
During the summer, we have free educational demonstrations and touch tank "tours." No cruise ticket required, it's free to visit and participate! Hours will be posted here soon!
After your visit, hop aboard an Isles of Shoals & Portsmouth Harbor Cruise, one of the seacoast's best attractions! Cruise ticket required. Schedules and info online at www.islesofshoals.com.
Program Schedule
Storytime: Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.
Lunchtime at the Tank: Daily at noon. Parents, come enjoy a relaxing lunch while the kids play!
Crab Feeding Time: Wednesdays and Saturdays at 1:00 p.m.
New! Sea Life Discovery Center in Salisbury Beach!
Join us at our new Discovery Center at 25B Broadway in Salisbury Beach! The center features marine life touch tanks, observation tanks, and interesting artifacts such as whale bones, baleen and a giant barnacle that came from a whale! You can also support marine conservation by purchasing a variety of merchandise. The center offers free admission, although donations are gratefully accepted.
